New Staff Announcement – Skye Shi!

Skye Shi
Program Assistant
Skye is the Undergraduate Program Assistant for the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, supporting a wide range of undergraduate programs and teaching-related activities. She works closely with faculty members, instructors, and colleagues to support course administration, student inquiries, and the smooth delivery of undergraduate programs.
Skye holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Tasmania in Australia. She brings several years of experience in higher education, with a professional background spanning admissions, recruitment, and enrolment services. Prior to joining UBC, she worked as an Admissions Officer with Queen Mary University of London (East Asia Office) in Beijing and as an Enrolment Services Officer at the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology in Winnipeg. Earlier in her career, she also worked as a recruitment officer in China, supporting Canadian higher education institutions.
Skye is passionate about the field of education, and all of her professional experience has been within public higher education. Originally from China, she has been an international student in both Australia and Canada, which gives her a global perspective and a strong commitment to supporting students and collaborating with faculty and staff.
In her spare time, Skye is a big sports fan and enjoys playing badminton and pickleball.
