The David Hoar and Noreen Rudd Scholarship

The David Hoar and Noreen Rudd Scholarship is to recognize trainees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UBC. Scholarships totaling $2,950 have been made available through an endowment established by David Hoar (BSc 1966, PhD) and Noreen Rudd (MD 1965) for outstanding undergraduate and graduate First Nations, Inuit and Metis students of Canada in the Department of Biochemistry.

NSERC USRA

If you are an undergraduate student enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with an interest in working on research and development projects at a University, you may be eligible to apply for an Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA).

Programs

Work Learn Program

The Work Learn Program supports and subsidizes meaningful work experiences on campus, offering current UBC Vancouver students the opportunity to develop their professional skills in a professional work environment. You can learn from a mentor, expand your professional network, gain work experience and skills through a part-time UBC job while still taking classes.

UBC Co-op Programs

Co-operative Education (“Co-op”) is a structured program that integrates a student’s academic studies with relevant, quality work experience. Through Co-op, students develop skills that employers desire and employers gain top, fresh talent.

Summer Student Research Program (SSRP)

The FoM Summer Student Research Program provides MD and non-MD undergraduate students with an opportunity to explore their interest in medical research by undertaking a project over the summer under the supervision of a principal investigator with an appointment in the Faculty of Medicine.
